Well illustrated with engravings, small 8vo, pp xii, 312, slightly weak internally, one page loose and frayed, an owner's name in ink on front endpaper and the inscription, "Michael Cecil Stark, Sept 1901. From his Godfather C.R.P." on page facing the half-title page, decorated cloth gilt a little marked and worn, corners rubbed, head and tail of spine fraying and a little worn. (With it's binding of various natural history objects such as a snail, dragonfly, cuttlefish etc this is one of the classic Victorian children's books).
