[First UK Edition ?? - this seems extremely scarce.] Illustrated with monochrome frontispiece, small octavo, pp 96, some age-toning, decorated violet cloth with gilt title design on the cover and spine, has some wear along the edges, spine a little faded and lightly pulled at top and bottom, endpapers have some browning and also inked inscription (Doris, with all good wishes from Vera and Irene. Confirmation 1913). [Short tales written in white dialect of the hill folk of the Southern USA by the niece of W.C.Prime who was Prof.of Art at Princeton and a renowned fisherman. The author also wrote "A Local Colorist" and "Fishin' Jimmy". Slosson, also an entomologist, is considered a significant author in the "local color" (regionalism) movement of the late 19th century. ]
